"Vette Killer" A-600 Chevy Aveo

Yup, an Aveo.....with a corvette engine swap and a top of speed of 246 on the straights of Old Lemans.

A couple of the guys got the tune last night and it definitely was well received. A great multi-player lobby car.....especially as you blast by the pack on the first straight.

More than one person commented on the car, is all I can say

Here are some pics....would love to make this an NLR release, but definitely need to ok from team leaders, and maybe some additional lap times from some drivers.

I pulled a 3:42.XXX but it definitely has some more time as I drive to tentatively to keep the lap clean.

No aero tune....900+ hp, 800+ torque, around 2700 lbs. 10.0 acceleration, and a smile from ear to ear

Send it to me! ill drive it, and i love the paint, i did it from a source pic off a cobalt. Im guessing thats where you got it from to? seems like a def release!

angus, sent you the tune and the paint...let me know what you think.

NLR Nitro modified my original tune and I was able to improve my PB by over a second. It is still bumpy down the first straight and hits 245 consistently...no longer hitting 246.

A suggestion given to me was to soften spring rates so that the car wouldn't struggle to have grip down that straight...so I kept the spring rate ratio between front and back, just lowered both by 50 pounds.

Your input would be helpful. I think the build is good, maybe just some fine adjustments...or a 2nd version as I tuned for ABS and TCS as that is what I drive....maybe if you could give it a go and give some suggestions...either to improve my tune, or to suggest how to modify it to also make a non-ABS, non TCS tune.

I had a Forza aero tune, grip was far superior, but it was only able to hit 236 down the straight given the drag from the aero.

and yes, it was taken from a cobalt source pic where they made a digital camo out of the chevy logo...the cobalt was blue.

I went with darker colors to go with the TSW trackstar wheels (given the red and black theme).

Yes definately.

Angus helped with the tune some more, making the car a 5 speed technically by adjusting the final drive so 6th gear is not used. Car still reaches the same top speed but doesn't suffer from the interesting 6th gear the car had with the stock transmission.

I'll need to get that revision from Angus before I send over the car.....or maybe angus can send over the paint and tune as he has copies of both.

He felt that the car could beat his current PB and that top 5 wasn't out of reach.

Boosted also got a copy last night and put some time into challenging his PB as well.

Both guys were running 10 seconds faster than my PB with the car.

Send me a copy of the tune too please (paint would be nice as well). Another freind had a muscle aveo that was rwd and a handful to handle. My other freind tried a fwd version he thought handled better but to me it kinda sucked (brakes on the damn thing felt like they were polished with WD40). Both tunes do about 240ish. Best time at old lemans is 3:50 so if you got something faster i'll be happy to test.

alright, wasn't able to check leaderboards last night as I was finishing a paint....so what'd you get with the unfinished tune version. Still trying to get that modified tune from angus.

After alot of overshots and exclaimation points screwing up my lap i finally got a 3:42.911 and would have had 3:40 if not for run in the sand. Difficult to get the feel for braking in this car at the end of the long straight. Bend in the straight i have to let off the gas for now otherwise its one wild time killing drift. I only hit 245mph right before the bend in the straight. Car is bouncing up and down so much the tcs is kicking on and i know its sapping power. Would like to see the modded tune by angus for furthur testing.
